a celebration of beauty and resilience over 40
This year I’m embarking on a special project.
I’m photographing 20 women over age 40, and I’d love for you to be one of them. My goal is to showcase true beauty in an age bracket that’s often marginalized by the beauty industry and by society - women over 40.
Additionally, most of us don’t make it to mid-life without weathering some serious challenges, yet we continue to bravely push forward. We deserve to be acknowledged and applauded. This is a wonderful way to celebrate your life, your age, your bravery, your triumphs, and your tenacity.
My inspiration for this project is a quote by Theodore Roosevelt, modified for women and made popular by author Brené Brown. I’ve included it below, and I hope it resonates with you as much as it has with me.
By participating in this project, you will receive a custom portrait session with 3-4 looks, complete with hair & makeup (valued at $600), a beautiful 11x14 portrait of your choice (valued at $400), and you’ll be featured in my culminating event, a gallery-style art show. There is a $450 fee to participate. Additional images from your session will be available for you to purchase if desired. All participants agree to sign a model release so their images may be used in print and online as part of this project.

THE WOMAN IN THE ARENA
It is not the critic who counts; not the woman who points out how the strong woman stumbles,
or where the doer of deeds could have done them better. The credit belongs to the woman who is actually in the arena,
